Places to spend a crazy Singles' Day

"Singles' Day" is special in China. It falls on Nov. 11. As the name suggests, it is exclusively for single people. They celebrate it for being free and unattached. The following are recommended places to visit and activities held on the day.

"Singles Stealing Vegetables", Splendid China, Shenzhen

 



Activity: On the night of Nov.11, the folk villages in Splendid China will again hold "Singles Stealing Vegetables' Festival". Participants who find the vegetables will get some encouragements. Through this funny game, visitors can make friends and find mates, and probably, give a farewell to being single.

Introduction: Located in the beautiful Shenzhen Bay, Splendid China is one of the world's largest parks of real miniature scenery. It reflects the ancient architecture, culture, history, art, customs and habits of various nationalities. Over 100 major tourist attractions have been reduced on a scale of 1:15 and laid out according to the map of China.

Admission fee: 120 yuan

Opening hours: 09:00-18:00 for Splendid China; 09:00-21:00 for Folk Culture Village

Transportation: take bus No.N5, N6, 21, 26, 32, 54, 59, 79, 113, 204, 222, 234, 245, 311, 323, 328, 367, 373…and get off at Splendid China.

"Happy Singles' Day", Beijing Happy Valley

 



From Nov.11 to Nov.14, Beijing Happy Valley will hold the "Happy Singles' Day". Through the activities of "Confessions of True Feelings", "Classical Dialogues in Movies" and "Bachelor's Love Song", singles will find they are not alone after all.

Tips: on the "Happy Singles' Day", a man with a full-price admission ticket can take a woman into the Happy Valley for free.

Introduction: Located in Chaoyang district, Beijing Happy Valley is one of the four chained Happy Valley theme parks with other three located in Chengdu, Shanghai and Shenzhen. It features distinctive landscapes and rides within different themes, similar to the Disneyland Park.

Admission fee: 160 yuan

Opening hours: 09:30 – 18:00 (week day); 09:00 – 18:00 (weekends)

Transportation: Take bus No. 31 or 41 and get off at Houfengqiao Nan (Beijing Happy Valley).

Qujiang Cool Cave Ruins Park, Xi'an

 



Located near the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Qujiang New District in Xi'an, Cool Cave Ruins Park is the first love-themed park in China. It is built upon the love story between Wang Baochuan (the daughter of the prime minister) and Xue Pinggui (a poor civilian) in Tang Dynasty (618-907). The park features love tour, love education and love commemoration.

Admission fee: 60 yuan

Transportation: take bus No.212, 801 or Qujiang Xinjing Line and get off at Qujiang Cool Cave Ruins Park.
