On Oct. 18 2008, the 10th Session West Lake International Expo Kicks off in Hangzhou
The 10th session West Lake Expo is planned to kick off from Oct. 18 2008 to Nov. 8 2008 in Hangzhou. The 10th West Lake Expo will be a grand get-together for integrating Beijing Olympics. With the theme of “being integrated into the Beijing Olympics by successfully holding the Westlake Expo”, this year’s expo will boast such events as Hangzhou Large-scale Sports Dancing Idol Show, International Dragon Boat Race, 2008 World Car Drifting competition Hangzhou Stop, Crossing Qiantang River Swimming Competition, Grand Canal Fashion Sports Festival, Stankovic Continental Basketball Champions Cup and so on.
The 10th West Lake Expo will be a grand get-together for International Exchanges. The local authorities will continue to highlight the international-orientation of the Expo, importing a batch of global exhibition brands to make this Expo a true platform for international exchanges. In addition to bringing in the International Children's Folklore & Folk game Festival for the first time, we continue to hold such high-level events as International Clown Carnival and World Car Drifting competition Hangzhou Stop. They will also hold the 15th Global Finance Annual Meeting with the collaboration with the Global Finance Association and the 2nd APEC Business Advisory Council SME Summit with the cooperation with the APEC Business Advisory Council. In addition, with the partnership with World Craft Council, GE and Hong Kong Trade Development Council to hold World Craft Conference, US Lovely Industry Expo, Sino-America Jeep Conference and Hong Kong Design for Living Expo respectively.
The 10th West Lake Expo will focus on investment and cooperation. During the Hangzhou investment and cooperation week, Hangzhou-Dubai economic and trade cooperative symposium, China-Japan economic and trade cooperative symposium, the service outsourcing special symposium and many other investment symposiums will be conducted in order to show you the sound investment environment of Hangzhou, introduce you with promising investment projects and attractive business opportunities.
The 10th West Lake Expo will focus on the quality life of Hangzhou. Comprising eight series, namely, the leisure life, the culture life, the entrepreneurship life, the digital life, the healthy life, the comfortable life, the creative life and the beautiful life, a variety of wonderful events will be held, such as the Wulin Fashion Show, the Paradise Silk Show, the Wushan Temple Fair, the Rose Wedding Ceremony, Hangzhou Shopping Festival, the Southern Song Dynasty Culture Week, the China International Palatable Cuisine Festival, and the West lake International Fireworks Show, in order to show the visitors the unique charm of Hangzhou, “the city of quality life”, and invite the visitors to experience the quality life and share it with people in Hangzhou.
The 10th West Lake Expo will focus on supporting the reconstruction in the earthquake-stricken area. In the light of the spirit of economizing the budget of the exposition, all the events in the West Lake exposition will have no big stars, no ribbon-cutting ceremonies, and no expensive receptions. All the fund saved will be donated to the Sichuan earthquake-hit area, in order to help people there rebuild their lives, recover their work and reconstruct their homeland.
This year, also highlighting the opening of Qiantang River New City zone, the opening ceremony and the international fireworks show will hold in the new city civilian square to promote development of the city development tragedy. This fireworks conference is the fabulous show with most fireworks set-off. Currently, the West Lake International Expo becomes more and more world famous as its gradual high-level performance.
