China has opened the world's longest cross-sea bridge----Jiaozhou Bay Bridge at 2:00 in the afternoon on June 30, 2011.

 The Jiaozhou Bay Bridge like a dragon zigzags across to the Jiaozhou Bay


The Jiaozhou Bay Bridge spans 41.58 km and links China's eastern port city of Qingdao to the island of Huangdao, in Jiaozhou Bay. It is the starting point of Qingdao section in the M36 which is planned to be the highway from Qingdao toLanzhou.

According to State media CCTV, the bridge project cost more than 10 billion yuan ($1.55bn; £970m). The whole Jiaozhou Bay Bridge built in four years is supported by more than 5,200 pillars. And the length of the bridge has broken the Guinness World Records.
 
After the opening of Jiaozhou Bay Bridge,  it will cut the commuting time between Qingdao and Huangdao by up to 20 minutes. Together with the undersea tunnel, it will be more convenient for Qingdao citizens and tourists who want to travel in Qingdao.
