Hollywood directors go to the icy world in Harbin

This Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival will be really an international gathering. American actors and directors will attend its ceremony and begin an epic about the ice city. The Financial Forum will invite Robert A. Mundell, the father of Euro who received the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science.

The northeastern China's city collaborates with the Five Continents Television from the US to present the International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival to the whole world. The event starts on January 5, 2010, which includes China Harbin 26th International Ice and Snow Festival and the Icy World's 10th anniversary. The opening ceremony – "Singing the Same Song to the Five Continents" – will be broadcasted live on China Central Television and America's Five Continents Television.

Nobel Prize winner Robert A. Mundell will be invited to the "On the Development Trend of the World Economy and Monetary in the Post-Financial Crisis Era", which is the theme of the Financial Forum next year. Mr. Mundell will deliver a speech on the occasion.

The city of Harbin will do joint venture with the Hollywood. The Modern Hotel, a spy epic that is all about the life of the Jewish people in Harbin during the war years, is going to start shooting in Harbin early next year. A Hollywood Movie City is to be built in Zhongyang Avenue(Central Avenue, 中央大街) for locals' entertainment. The city will also help financing the Modern Hotel Group and build all-weather Icy World at the Ice and Snow Festival site.
