Hangzhou, the tourists' most satisfactory city in China

According to a recent survey conducted by National Tourism Bureau, the impression among tourists who have visited Hangzhou is very good, including the city's image and travel services. The West Lake, where located near downtown Hangzhou, provides best tourist attractions free for visitors at home and abroad. The survey showed that in the second quarter of 2009, Chinese cities got 79.06 out of 100 full marks from the comments of Chinese travelers and Hangzhou has been heralded the best destination.

This survey collected 40 Chinese cities as research samples, China Tourism Research Institution received about 7,000 answered questionnaires, gathered 100,000 comment messages from nine local tourism websites and satisfaction and complaint information from tourism monitor bodies and law enforcement teams.

The survey results indicated that Hangzhou, Wuxi, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenyang, Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai got over 80 marks, of which Hangzhou ranked the first place. This is because scenic area services, local traffic, entertainment, F & B, accommodation, shopping and travel agencies have obtained excellent marks.

To achieve such a good grade, Hangzhou municipal government has already invested a lot in improving the city's environment and supported the development in local tourism. The strategic aim of internationalized tourism and policy of making tourism to go city's westwards, also new Xixi Wetland and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal protection projects have successfully attracted visitors.

The West Lake is to be opened free for tourists from outside Hangzhou only during the National Day holiday that demonstrates the openness and generosity of Hangzhou.
