First Xian-Taiwan direct flight takes travelers cross Strait

Today, the first-ever direct flight from Taiwan with more than 200 Taiwanese tourists on board has arrived in Xian.

The China Airline flight no. CI561 from Taiwan will be arriving at Xian airport at 3:00PM Beijing Time (GMT+8) with more than 200 tourists from the island province. This is the first passenger airplane from Taiwan to be landed at Xian Xianyang International Airport ever in cross-Strait relation history.

Also at 4PM today, more than 70 mainland tourists will be on board the same plane, which will fly directly to Taiwan.

Xian, a western China city famous for its Terra Cotta Warriors, has now been the seventh city on the Mainland that has direct cross-Taiwan Strait flight services, after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changsha, Shenzhen and Chengdu.
