The National Tourism Administration of China (CNTA) announced that May 19 each year will be the National Tourism Day of China starting 2011. Apparently, it is good news for the traveling lovers no matter where they are from.

Zhu Shanzhong, the vice-chairman of CNTA, said "We choose May 19 as the National Tourism Day because it was the date when Xu Xiake (1587-1641, a well-known geographer, traveler and explorer of the Ming Dynasty) began to write his famous book Travel Notes of Xu Xiake, which to this day serves as a strong link between culture and tourism."

There are more than 20,000 frequently visited scenic spots, 15,000 travel agencies and almost 1 million professional tour guides in China. With these data, China is becoming a new tourist attraction in the world.
