Expo promotion week under way in Hefei, Anhui

 

 

With the opening of the fourth Central China Expo, an Expo-themed exhibition was unveiled today at the Anhui International Exhibition and Conference Center in Hefei, capital of Anhui Province.

The section with an area of 176 square meters at the exhibition attracted big crowds and media attention. Shanghai's bid of the Expo as well as preparations of the event are featured at the section.

A special part "Anhui and Expo" is designed, which introduces some award-winning products of the province in the Panama-Pacific International Exposition at San Francisco, 1915 and recalled Anhui's participation in Kunming-hosted World Horticultural Expo in 1999.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Models of some pavilions and the master plan of the Expo site are on display.

Meanwhile, campus promotion was also held at the University of Science and Technology of China.

As an important part of the Anhui promotion week, an Expo-themed lecture was held at the university. Huang Yaocheng, counselor for national participation with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination introduced the history and significance of World Expos and highlighted the progress of Expo Shanghai.

So far, 17 statues of mascot "Haibao" have arrived in 17 cities in Anhui.
