Dragon-and-Tiger Mountain the Taoism's birthplace

The Dragon-and-Tiger Mountain is in Guixi Town of Yingtan, Jiangxi Province, China. It is a national 4A level scenic area and a place of origin of Taoism. The mountain is actually a geological park with the famous Danxia Landform, which consists of reddish rock peaks formed and erected after long history of wear and tear by natural environment. They are also seen in other parts of China. Danxia Landforms in Dragon-and-Tiger Mountain will be applying for UNESCO's World Natural Heritage next year.

Zhang Daoling, the religious master, had completed his divine elixir in the Dragon-and-Tiger Mountain, in the Han Dynasty about 2,000 years ago, other masters had been resided here since then. They had won high praises from emperors of ancient dynasties in China. In terms of architecture, the Dragon-and-Tiger Mountain had 80 Taoist halls, 36 monasteries and a few Taoist palaces during its most flourishing times. It was in fact the Kingdom in Taoism.
