Modern lifestyle appears in China's last primitive tribe

 

Mang Ren (莽人) had been regarded as an unidentified ethnic minority in China before 2009. Today Chinese categorized them as a part of Bulang Nationality (布朗族). They are living in southwest China, where the region bordering Vietnam and Laos. According to a recent statistics, there are 681 Mang Ren people in China. They are usually short (the tallest men are generally not over 160 cm), with tanned skin and strong legs, for which people can carry many goods while walk about 70 kilometers daily with bare foot.

In the morning on June 18, Mang Ren resident Luo Kaiwen of Niu Chang Ping Village, Jinping County in Yunnan Province, opened the door of his home and a brand new day began. Recently, he and a few hundred Mang Ren people moved to two storied houses built by local government. For many years, they had been living old thatched cottages. Now the last primitive tribe in China lives modern lifestyle, as others do.
