Are You Ready for the Dragon Boat Festival?
As Jiaxing Duanwu Folklife Festival Press Conference was held on May 18, the step of Dragon Boat Festival is much closer and the festive spirit is obviously getting stronger.
Dragon Boat Festival( Duanwu, in Chinese) is an important traditional festival in China. For two thousand years, it forms some unique customs including offering ceremony, food and entertainment which express people’s wishes of avoiding evil and keeping healthy.
Jiaxing Duanwu Folklife Festival 2011, which will be held from June 3 to June 7, is organized by the Ministry of China and the government of Zhejiang while the agency for cultural affairs of Zhejiang, Jiaxing Municipal Party Committee and Jiaxing government are the co-organizers.
The motto of Jiaxing Duanwu Folklife Festival 2011 is "Jiaxing Duanwu, Chinese flavor ", aiming at developing and expanding the profound cultural deposit of Duanwu. Therefore, the most eye-catching Jiaxing Duanwu Folklife Festival is ready to give us a big show.
