BEIJING, March 7 -- In the last few decades, China has opened over dozens of theme parks in a dizzying array of styles and motifs. Theme Parks will offer great relaxation for everyone from small children to old people. The followings are eight most popular theme parks in China.


1. Xishuangbanna Dai Ethnic Garden

The Dai Ethnic Garden is in Ganlan basin of Xishuangbanna area, 30 kilometers away from Jinghong city. Located in Yunnan Province in the southwestern part of China, Xishuangbanna is famous for its mysterious tropical rainforests, wild animals and ethnic minorities.

In the garden there is a natural Dai village. The villagers are all hospitable and friendly. Tourists are welcome to stay overnight in a Dai household to receive the host and hostess' hospitality and to take part in their routine farm work, amidst the landscape of rural scenery, and there is also a century-old Manchunman monastery nearby.
 

2. Hong Kong Disneyland

Located on Lantau Island, Hong Kong Disneyland opened on September 12, 2005. The park is Disney's fifth "Magic Kingdom" park, and the company's first theme park in China. It consists of four themed lands similar to other Disneyland parks: Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, Adventure Land and Tomorrow Land.
 

3.Beijing Happy Valley

Occupying an area of 560,000 square meters, Beijing Happy Valley is the largest theme park in China. It consists of six zones: Wild Fjord, Atlantis, the Lost Maya Kingdom, Aegean Harbor, Shangri-La and Ants Kingdom. Depicting selected mysterious cultures of the world, it reflects a range of world history. Full of fantasy and spectacle, Happy Valley is a great day out for the young and the young at heart.

Window of the World is a fantastic replica park situated at Shenzhen of Guangdong Province at the southern tip of the Chinese mainland and eastern bank of the mouth of the Pearl River. Here you can see vivid replicas of the world's wonders, historical heritages and famous scenic sites. The entire masterpiece is built at ratios of 1:1, 1:5 or 1:15.

Within one day, you can visit many reproductions of famous sites from different countries including Mahamuni Pagoda of Mandalay, the Angkor Wat of Cambodia. 5. Qingming Shanghe Park

The park is modeled after a famous Chinese scroll painting titled Qingming Shanghe Tu (Upper River during Qing Ming Festival). The painting is one of the most renowned paintings in Chinese history. It was a very long water color landscape scroll on silk created by imperial artist Zhang Zeduan of the Northern Song Dynasty (960 - 1126 AC) to describe Kaifeng, which was the capital of China at that time.

Due to the fame of this painting, the city of Kaifeng has constructed a modernized Qingming Shanghe Park containing reconstructed traditional restaurants, shops, and bridges, and hosts performances by dancers and musicians that re-enact Song Dynasty rituals. It draws thousands of tourists each year. The park has been ranked as a National AAAA Class Scenic Spot.


6. Tang Paradise Lotus Park

Near the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Paradise Lotus Park is located in the Qujiang Resort, southeast of Xian, Shaanxi Province.

Divided into twelve scenic regions with respective themes, this park covers approximately 165 acres, about 49 acres of which is water. It claims to be the biggest cultural theme park in northwestern China, and the first imperial garden gives a full display of the heyday of the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Tang Paradise Lotus Park is not only a beautiful garden with water and mountains in the Chinese traditional sense, but has integrated almost all representative features of the Tang Dynasty including poetry, songs, dance, markets, delicacies, fashion and even science and technology.

Almost all Tang Dynasty architectural styles can be seen here. In addition, you can also enjoy song and dance performances in traditional style and the world's largest water-screen movies. Strolling in this park, you are bound to feel as if you are journeying through time.

7. Horticulture Expo Garden

Although the international horticultural Expo ended in 1999 in Kunming, capital city of Yunnan Province, the Horticulture Expo Garden has become a scenic spot with many exotic flowers and plants.

The Horticulture Expo Garden is a first-class garden with typical Chinese blossoms and architecture. In the garden there are five large exhibition halls: China Hall, the Man and Nature Hall, the Green House, the Science and Technology Hall and the International Hall.

There are also six themed gardens: the Tree Garden, the Tea Garden, the Bonsai Garden, the Medicinal Herb Garden, the Bamboo Garden, and the Vegetable and Fruit Garden. The three outdoor exhibition areas include the International Outdoor Exhibition Area, the Domestic Outdoor Exhibition Area and the Exhibition Area for Enterprises. While there are two large squares in the Century Plaza and the Performance Plaza.


8. Hengdian World Studios

Located in the town of Hengdian of Dongyang City in central Zhejiang Province, Hengdian World Studios is often called "Chinese Hollywood".

The studios make use of 13 movie sets in a total area of 330 hectares. All of the locations are open to the public as theme parks. Visitors here can view the movie sets, watch movie stunt projects, or even shoot their own film.
