This is a join-in tour with fixed itinerary and departure date. Customization is not possible anywhere while pre or/and post tour can be arranged on request. Top of Mt Tianhuangping in Anji, 80km northwest of Hangzhou, 1,000 meters above sea level, without any light pollutiong, is believed to be one of the best observatory point in China for the spectacle.

Day 1

Hangzhou - Anji

  • Pick-up time : 1:30pm – 1:45pm
    Pick-up place: Yellow Dragon Hotel (120 Shuguang Road, Tel: 86-571-87998833)
    A professional English speaking guide of Absolute China Tours will meet you at the lobby of Yellow Dragon Hotel. Board the coach and leave for Anji at 1:45pm. It might take 2 or more hours driving to Anji and another 40 minutes up to the mountain - Tianhuangping, more than usual due to the possible heavier traffic. Upon arrival, check in the local best available hostel.
    After dinner in the hostel you will enjoy a free evening and get everything ready for tomorrow’s eclipse. You may also stroll along the country road to experience the rural life of Anji.

Day 2
Anji- Hangzhou (Breakfast/Lunch/-)
  • Try local snacks for breakfast. Take your eclipse equipment and walk for 30 minutes to the observatory location – Jiangnan Hevenly Pool Skiing Resort. It is believed one of the best places in China for eclipse with the best conditions (1,000m above sea level without any light pollution).

Tips
  • When watching the total eclipse, you should wear particular glasses in case the strong sunlight hurt your eyes. If the glasses are unavailable, you can also look through a piece of exposed photographic film or a sheet of glass evenly coated with ink or evenly smoke-blackened.
  • Do remember to cover your lens with a Baader Astro Solar safety film if you would like to use your telescope. A telescope is like a magnifier. It strengthens the sunlight and will injury your retina the moment you watch through it directly with no filters.
