Shanghai Airports
There are two airports in Shanghai. Shanghai Pudong International Airport covers an area of 40 square kilometers and is about 30 km from the center of Shanghai, 40 km from Hongqiao Airport. The code for Pudong International Airport is PVG., about 800 airplanes taking off and landing at Pudong Airport everyday, which cover 90 oversea cities and 62 domestic ones. The code for Hongqiao International Airport is SHA, and everyday 540 airplanes taking off and landing at Hongqiao Airport. Most international flights are taking off and landing at Pudong Airport, expect 11 daily airlines to Tokyo Haneda Airport that takes off from Hongqiao Airport. Domestic flights are taking off from both Pudong and Hongqiao Airports, therefore you should pay attention. For transit in Shanghai, it’s better to ensure that the flights are landing and taking off at the same airport, otherwise you should allow for sufficient time for the shuttle time.
From city center to Pudong Airport, except Pudong Airport specialty coach lines and hotel shuttles, passengers can also take Metro Line 2 to Longyang Road Station, then transfer to maglev train to airport. It lasts only 7 minutes and cost 50 yuan. Air ticket holders are charged for 40 yuan. The maglev train works from 6:45 to 21:30. If take taxi, it lasts for 45 minutes and costs about 120 yuan.
