Near the countries of India and Myanmar, Bordering the province of Yunnan, and regions of Chamdo（昌都）, Lhasa, Nagqu（那曲） and Shannan（山南）, Nyingchi（林芝） is known as the Swiss Alps of Tibet or the Lower Reaches of Yangtze River of Tibet.
Having 117,000 square kilometers in area, it is located in the lower reaches of the Brahmaputra River in southeastern Tibet Autonomous Region, with relatively low altitude of an average 3,000 meters above sea level and the lowest point is just 152 meters. Therefore, the unique environment has made the place enjoys much better climatic conditions than any other areas in the Tibetan Plateau. It is usually warm and humid.
