Lishui, located in the southwest part of Zhejiang and the linking area between Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces, has a total area of 17,300 square kilometers and a total population of 2.52 million. Lishui is the political, economic and cultural center of southwest part of Zhejiang Province. Lishui is a special city that has the largest administration area and smallest population in Zhejiang Province. Lishui, as a city-level zone in China, has a history of more than 1400 years. Lishui has many famous tourist attractions such as Xiandu National Park in Jinyun, Shimen Cave in Qingtian, Nanming Mountain of Lishui and so on. There are 3 natural reserves under the state-level or province-level protection, 7 province-level forestry parks and 17 cultural relics under the state-level or province-level protection.

The traditional local craftworks are Stone Carving of Qingtian, Longquan Sword, Celadon Porcelain, Wooden Toys, and Black Pottery of Suichang and so on.
