As Chinese people attach more and more importance to their physical health, doing daily exercise is being so popular nowadays in China. Especially in big cities in east China, like Shanghai and Hangzhou, where urban infrastructure is so advanced and high quality residential blocks are built in downtowns and outskirts of cities. It is a pity that if a posh community without quality exercise and sports facilities. So, in big housing areas, swimming pools, table tennis courts, jogging machines and other gymnastic apparatuses are available for free or with fairly low charges. Some simple apparatuses are almost suitable for people in all ages.

Meanwhile, just walking or jogging around community area is very enjoyable, too. The walking paths are well-designed, human-orientated and planted with evergreen trees and pretty flowers. You will feel like to be retreated to a certain classical garden. When springtime comes, fragrance will be wafted round all the corners. In autumn, it will be the bewitching fragrance of osmanthus. Parts of the walking path are paved with tiny protruding smooth stone pieces, which will be beneficial to the whole human body if you walk on them barefoot. They can massage the acupuncture points of your toes and soles.

Most of the swimming pools in residential communities are quite hygienic and the fresh water will be changed periodically. Outdoor pools are opened to residents between late spring and early autumn. It will be very, very crowded during mid-summer, because the searing heat weather is quite terrible in Shanghai and Hangzhou.
