By Air


Longdongbao Airport(龙洞堡机场) is only 10km from downtown Guiyang, this airports connects Guiyang with main domestic cities, Hong Kong, Macau as well as Thailand.

From Longdongbao Airport to downtown Guiyang: there are buses outside of the waiting room.

From Downtown Guiyang to Longdongbao Airport: you can take a bus in front of the Airline Tickets Office at the convergence of Zunyi Road and Qingyun Road, which will charge only 10¥.
Taxi: though they usually ask for 50¥, you can negotiate the price to 30¥

By Train

Guiyang Train Station: located within downtown, you can take Bus No. 1 or No.2 to city center

As the transportation hub, there are plenty of train routes to and fro Guiyang. By far, train reigns as the key mode of transportation. There are direct trains leading to Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou and Wuhan.

By Long Distance Bus

Guiyang Long Distance Bus Center in Beijing Road (you can take direct bus from this station to any main cities within Guizhou Province)

There are four national roads: Guizhou—Hunnan, Guizhou—guangxi, Guizhou—Yunnan, Guizhou-Sichuan

Four highways: Guiyang—Huangguoshu Guiyang—Zunyi Guiyang—Bijie Guiyang—Xinjiang

Besides, National Road 321 and 210 pass Guiyang also.

Bus are unbelievably cheap in Guiyang, it will charge 1.2¥ each time(around 1/6 of one dollar). You need to prepare the charge. Notice that many buses are runed by private companies rather than the state. In order to make profit, they will drive crazily. Good news is that the operation time is from 6:00am to midnight and serves as the cheapest way to explore this city.

Heading to suburb area, you had better negotiate with the driver beforehand before getting in the taxi.
