Guilin Museum

The Guilin Museum is among the 100 national museums in China nowadays, it is a place collecting historical heritage and fine arts. There are four exhibition halls in the museum. The Guilin's Historical Relic Exhibition recalls the 30,000 years history of Guilin with a lot of articles that are evidences of the rich culture here. The Guangxi Ethnic Relic Exhibition demonstrates the social activities, cultural life and the daily commodities of some ethnic groups in ancient Guangxi region. The Exhibition of the Gifts from International Friends collects the essence of different civilizations throughout the world. The presents from foreign countries indicate the admiration of the scenic Guilin from various nations. White porcelain vases painted with patterns of bamboo and plum from the Ming Dynasty are displayed in the Guilin's Excavation of Plum Vases from the Ming Dynasty. The vase exhibition vividly reflects the wisdom of the laborers in ancient China. 

Guilin Art Museum

Established in 1977, the Guilin Art Museum is the only fine art museum in Guangxi. The construction of the museum is adopted the style of the Song Dynasty, which looks like a big pavilion. It has a large collection of famous paintings from past masters to the contemporary artists. The museum holds fine art exhibitions periodically as well. The Artists Gallery on the second floor of the Guilin Art Museum sells painting works by modern masters. The paintings from these up-and-coming artists are very distinctive in style and having great artistic merits. They will continue to hold value from a collector's standpoint in the future.

As a unit engaging in social commonweal and cultural education, the Guilin Art Museum is emphasized on art education for local youths and it provides free tickets for school tour groups.
