National Stadium ( Bird's Nest )

National Stadium is located in the gentle slopes of Olympic Park area. The venue looks as a container. Generally, so the public names it as Bird's Nest. It is located at the south region of the Olympic Green of Beijing.

The National Stadium is the major stadium for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the 29th Olympiad which is to be hosted by China. The National stadium covers an area of 21 hectares and has floor-space coverage of 258,000 square meters. The seating capacity of national stadium works out at 91,000, besides there are also roughly 11,000 temporary seats. Bird's Nest is the main stadium for 2008 Beijing Olympic.

The basic shape looks like a nest which symbolizing the cradle of hopefulness for future. The opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and Paralympics Games will be held in national stadium. Furthermore, the football final game and the track and field competition are also hosted in this brand-new and excellent-equipped national stadium. After the completion of Olympiad, this national stadium will be scheduled to be a landmark of 29th Olympic legacy architecture.

Additionally it also plays a role in Beijingers' sports and entertainment. The scheduled life of designing this stadium is 100 years. So in the regard of fire-resistance capability is top-class and it is also able to withstand the eight-magnitude earthquake. The capability of water resistance is also the well-accepted rate.
