Acupuncture and Cupping

AcupunctureMoxibustion and Cupping have played a significant role in Traditional Chinese Manipulative Therapy and also have had a great effect in the world, eapecially in the southeast Asia and China towns in other western countries.

Acupuncture and  Moxibustion
In the Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture, acupuncture and moxibustion together are named zhēn jiǔ (针灸). Without any doubts, acupuncture and moxibustion are different.
About acupuncture, the earliest written record can be traced to approximately 200 BCE, on a medicine classic work the Huangdi Neijing (黄帝内经,The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon). And gradually, Chinese acupuncture is spread to Taiwan,Japan and Korea from the mainland. But nowadays, to a certain extent, maybe not exactly the same. Taking traditional Chinese medicine as an integral part of its practice and theory, acupuncture practitioners will insert needles into the skin of a person's body according to the meridians or acupuncture points.
Speaking of moxibustion,it is a technique which does not need needles but moxa or mugwort herbs. Producers grind ripe moxa or mugwort herbs up to a fluff and later practitioners burn the fluff or process it further into a stick pretty much like a non-smokable cigar. Then, this kind of cigar can be burnt on a patient's skin or used with acupuncture needles.

Both of these two medical care ways are proved be effective in relieving pain, preventing disease and keeping balance of the general health.Acupuncture is even used for losing weight.
Cupping is  an ancient technique. Practitioners use glass jars as tools and  heated, then put them on the human body.As a result, heating power will create a vacuum which can adsorb jars and cause extravasated blood. It is good to relieve acute illnesses such as colds and fevers. Cupping can also be done all over the body to invigorate the flow of Qi and to relieve tension and pain. It is often used for treating upper and lower back ache, chronic nausea and vomiting, sciatica, frozen shoulder and more.
