Guniujiang Natural Reserve
Guniujiang Natural Reserve is the largest nation-level natural reserve in east China, and the national geological park. Guniujiang Natural Reserve is situated in Qimen County, which is crowned to be the China’s Black Tea Village. It is 126 kilometers away from the downtown of Tunxi with the total area of more than 6700 hectare. The main peak altitude is 1728 meters. This is a multi-functional natural ecological system with the complicated structure. So it is also titled “the green natural museum”. The natural scenery is simple and primitive comprised the characteristics of grandness, steepness, peculiarity, quietness, wildness and deepness. The Buddha Shine is the most attractive in this reserve.
In 1988, Guniujiang Natural Reserve was permitted to be the first nation-class comprehensive natural reserve mainly characterized of the forest ecological system in Anhui province. In 2004; it was listed to be the national geological park. The forest coverage has been up to 97%. It is the gene bank of species in east China and the natural bathroom of forest. Guniujiang Natural Reserve currently is the only reserve that was approved by national forestry Ministry to serve as the ecotourism zone. The famous attractions are fairy pool, Huanglong pool, Guniu Lake, Qianlong valley and so on.
