Wanxian

Located 360 kms downstream from Chongqing and spreading our on both sides of river, Wanxian is a mountain city known as the gateway to the East Sichuan Basin. The city received its name during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) and became a Foreign Treaty Port in 1902. The free market in very busy in Wanxian, silk spinning and weaving industry are well known in the Yangtze Gorges region. The exciting acrobatic show is well known in this region.
