Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area

Jiuzhaigou is located in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province. Its name is derived from the fact that there are nine Tibetan villages ("zhai" in Chinese) with a valley of the Baihe River besides. The average elevation of the scenic area is 2000 m above the sea level. It has primeval forests with 108 crystal clear lakes and varieties of colorful pools and beautiful falls, so the place is sometimes known as the "Fairyland" by the locals. The scene of clear blue sky, cotton-like clouds, snowy mountains and virgin forest combined with the beauty of waterfalls, rivers and shoals. All these things make it looks like a master painting. The depth of the Jiuzhaigou is about 40 km with an area of over 60,000 hectares. It shaped like a "Y" if it is seen on the plane.
