Wuxia Gorge

Wuxia Gorge was also named Da Gorge. It is famous for its tranquility, deepness and enchantment. The marvelous scenery and steep cliffs on both sides bring us the feeling of excitement and amazement.

It is the most splendid and fabulous section of Three Gorges area. There are a lot of relics or sites in the area. The scenic attractions are easily available are Kongming Stele. There are some Chinese characters engraved on the stele several thousand years ago. It was said that it was written by the wisest man Zhuge Liang in ancient China.

There is a famous kiosk named Autumn-wind Kiosk. It is connected with a celebrity in Song Dynasty, Kou Zhun, a well-known premier in Song Dynasty. At the age of 19, he became the governor of Badong County. During three-year governorship, he wrote nearly 100 poems and built up a kiosk in the old town. He used to make poems, see scenery and drink wines here. Later he became the national premier.

This kiosk became more famous and was thought to be the auspicious land for being officials. So before they left for other places as officials, they would stay here to drink wines and make poem in order to be more successful as an officials in the future. Nowadays it is also cherished very much by local residents.
