Landscape of Taihu Lake embodies the integration of elegance, gracefulness and magnificence. It has the expansion of waters and the vastness of waves. The magic attraction covers the essence of Taihu Lake scenic area. One of China’s socialistic writers Guo Moruo said: the best spot of Taihu Lake is in Yuantouzhu area of scenic beauty. The late leader of China’s Buddhism association, Zhao Puchu acclaimed that the scenery of Yuantouzhu area surpases that in paradise. 

“The rising spring in Taihu Lake” is one of the eight attractions in Wuxi. In the late period of Ming Dynasty, Gao Panlong the famous leader of Donglin Academy used to walk here and leaved a lot of cultural and historic heritages.        

In 1918, people began to establish gardens in Yuantouzhu area of Scenic Beauty. The celebrity, officials and rich-men built their private garden and villas one after another. In 1950s, after the decent and careful arrangement and more buildings were built. This resort became more perfect. The total area of this area was up tp 300 hectare. It eventually became one of the largest gardens of mountains and water in southern area of Yangtze River. 

Nowadays, in Yuantouzhu area of scenic beauty has more than 10 attractions; most of the natural and cultural images could de discovered here visually. The well-equipped infrastructure of shopping, accommodation, and walking is satisfactory here. It is currently one sparkling pearl on the side of Taihu Lake!
