1. The Bank of China is the commonest bank in Tibet and banks are rare in small county towns. Foreign currency can not circulate in Tibet, so you need to exchange for RMB when you get Lhasa. There are two places where you can do the exchange. They are Lhasa Branch of the Bank of China, which is located in Bejing West Road in Lhasa, and the Holiday Inn. If you take Lhasa as your transit station, you may as well open a short-term account and deposit some of your money in the account, for taking plenty of money along with you is not safe.
2. When you tour around Tibet, do not forget to take plastic bags with you, in which you can put your rubbish, and take the bags of rubbish back to the refuse collection points close to your accommodations. Protecting the environment is a duty for every one.

3. The best time for Tibet tour is from April to October. In this period, the climate is pleasant. Traveling Tibet in winter is also agreeable for there are fewer visitors and you can more thoroughly and freely enjoy the pretty natural scenery.
4. Pay attention to what you eat and drink in Tibet. Avoid eating undercooked meat or drinking under boiled water. Buy bottled water or drink which are tight-packed in grocery stores when you are out of the urban district. If there is no stores, boil water yourself or disinfect the water before you drink it. Be careful of the ice added into the drink. If you are not sure of whether the water used to make ice is disinfected or not, you had better tell the waiters or waitresses that you don’t need ice.
5. When taking pictures in Tibet, you may as well give some candies or small gifts to the local children, which will facilitate your communication with them. Yet, giving them money is not recommended.
