Huizhou Travel Guide in China
Huizhou, anciently called Xian’an, was validated to be one county 2200 years ago. In 1987, State Council formally changed this region to be Huangshan city which administered Tunxi district, Huizhou district and Huangshan district and four counties like She County, Xiuning County, Yi County, and Qimen County. Additionally, Huangshan scenic area is also in its administration. The total coverage area is 9807 square kilometers and its population is nearly 1,500,000. Huizhou was the important ancient cultural and economic area in China.
The famous businessmen coming from this place ruled China’s business circle for more than 300 years. There is a saying:it is not a town without businessmen from Huizhou. Besides, the Hui academy is one of three important and conspicuous studies in China (the other two are Tibetan academy and Dunhuang academy). Huixue is roughly comprised of business, Hui drama (the origin of Peking Opera), Huizhou cuisine, Huizhou carvings, Xin’an Confucian philosophy study, Xin’an medicine, Xin’an painting, Xin’an seal, Xin’an architecture and bonsai with Huizhou style.
Huizhou tourism resources are unique and dense with high-level quality. There are two world heritages and one famous historical and cultural city all around China. There are also three national places of interest, one national natural reservation, one world Natural Park, three National Forest Park and 10 national historical and cultural protection units. World-famous Huangshan Mountain is also in this area, and it is the gem of China’s nature and culture. Xidi and Hongcun as the historical relic of Huizhou material civilization could present you tranquility and calmness. The erecting paifang means the spiritual arena of Huizhou people. More and more ancient villages and architectures show the long-standing prosperity and richness.
