Xinan Painting School

Xinan Painting School during the time of Ming and Qing Dynasties, some Huizhou painters lived in the Huizhou or some other areas were generally called the Xinan painters, and their painting styles and forms are thought to be the Xinan Painting School. The painting characteristics are trending to the simplification and high solitude, which highlights the high-level of the ancient painting and personal quality. The first man who referred to Xinan Painting School was Zhang Geng, and then many people called them Xian painters. There were many painters in this school, and more than 80 better painters and the master-level painters are roughly 20 people, such as: Wang Zhiduan, Zha Shibiao, Sun Yi, Wu Shantao and Huang Binghong.
