Generally the development of Xinan Medicine could be divided into two parts: in Tang Dynasty it was in developing time and in Ming and Qing Dynasties it was in the blooming time. As the economic and cultural development as well as the wide exchange, Huizhou medicine gradually became prosperous, and many famous doctors came out. Especially as the appearance of Confucian doctors, and in accordance with the geological environment, climatic conditions and the life custom of Huizhou area, the systematic doctor theory was thought out, in particular they emphasized the spleen and stomach, liver and kidney and the operation and circulation of blood, so it formed a particular medicine style. Publicly called it Xinan Medicine, Wang Ji came from this place and was famous as one of four greatest doctors in Ming Dynasties. Xinan medicine is comprised of chirurgery, internal medicine, Gynecology, Pediatrics, throat treatment, eye treatment, acupuncture and massage and so on. It is also greatly influencing the medicine development of Japan, North Korea and many southeast countries.
