Huizhou Miniascape

In 1972, Premier Zhou Enlai accompanied with USA President Nixon to appreciate the Plum Miniascape of Huizhou which was displayed in Shanghai People’s Garden. Nixon highly spoke of this kind of miniascape art form.

Huizhou miniascape is represented by the art form in Shexian County, including Jixi (which is the hometown of President of China, Hu Jingtao), Yixian County and Xiuning County. It is characteristic of the simplicity, peculiarity and poetic feeling. It has more than 800-year history. It is famous for Youlongmeizhuang as the domestic famous miniascape. There is also a grand miniascape exhibition at a time interval of 12 years since the time of Qing dynasty. Huizhou miniascape has many kinds but mainly famous for Huizhou plum, Huizhou pine trees and so on. For more than 100 year development and many makers’ efforts, a large number of famous and successful works have been done.
