After breakfast your first visit is Tiananmen Square which is a site of historic significance for China. It is the biggest city square in the world, alive with local kite filers and wide-eyed tourists from out of town. Later, you will move to Forbidden City. Also known as the Imperial Palace Museum or Gugong, the Forbidden City was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties carried out their administration and lived. You can see the great traditional palace architecture, enjoy the treasure kept in the palace, and learn of the legends and anecdotes about the imperial family and the court.
In the afternoon leave for the Summer Palace. Well known for its large and priceless collection of cultural relics, Summer Palace was among the first group of historical and cultural heritage sites in China to be placed under special state protection. Afterwards, you will enjoy a rickshaw tour in the old Hutong and visit a local family.
This evening, enjoy the fantastic Beijing Opera(seat in the VIP area).

After enjoying your breakfast we drive towards northwest to visit the Badaling section of the Great Wall. Badaling is the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China, approximately 50 miles (80 km) northwest of urban Beijing city in Yanqing County, which is within the Beijing municipality. The portion of the wall running through the site was built during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location's strategic importance. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou, approximately 0.63 miles (1,015 m) above sea level. In the afternoon pay a visit to Changling, one of the thirteen Ming Tombs. It is the tomb of Zhu Di, the third emperor of Ming Dynasty.

After breakfast you will visit the Temple of Heaven where emperors conducted religious rituals and prayed for good harvest in Qing and Ming dynasties. It is one of the most important landmarks of Beijing. After having lunch you will be picked up at your hotel and transfered to Panjiayuan Antique Market and enjoy walking around the market, bargaining with the pedlars or just watch others making deals. It's said "if you only shop in one place in Beijing, let it be Panjiayuan Weekend Market".


Panjiayuan Weekend Market:  It is a super shopping market for all Chinese arts and crafts. It is made up of over 3,000 individual stalls covering 48,500 square metres. Stall owners come from different provinces of China with their local specials. You can shop for jade, pearl, teapots, paintings, porcelain and so on. Sales people are friendly and easy to bargin. Even former first lady of the United Stats Hilary Clinton once shopped here. Panjiayuan Market is at its best on weekends. Then you will be transferred to the airport and board the flight to Zhengzhou.

After enjoying your breakfast you will be driven to Luoyang. After that, pay a visit to Longmen Grottoes, one of the three most important Buddhism grottoes in China. There are 2345 caves and niches, 2800 inscriptions, 43 pagodas and over 100,000 Buddhist images at the site. 30% of the caves date from the Northern Wei Dynasty, 60% from the Tang Dynasty, and caves from other periods less than 10%. It is the most impressive collection of Chinese art from these dynasties, which represents the zenith of stone carving in China. In the afternoon take one and a half hours' drive to Shaolin Temple for a visit. It was here that Indian monk Bodhidarma stayed and taught the idea of Dyana (Zen) to his disciples. The temple is famous for its martial art - Kungfu as well. After lunch you will visit the graveyard of the temple, where a lot of tower-style tombs are set there. Then enjoy a free walk around. There are many Kungfu training schools there.

Day 8 - Luoyang -> Xian   (B, L, D)

After enjoying your breakfast full day guided tour and today's highlights include:  terra-cotta warriors and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The life-sized terra-cotta warriors had been buried with the Qin emperor Shihuang for over 2200 years. It was one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built in AD652, was the place to house and protect Buddhist scriptures brought back from India by a famous monk Xuanzang.

Today pay a visit to Shaanxi History Museum, which is one of the first huge state museums with modern facilities in China with over 300,000 items. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Chongqing. you will be transferred to Three Gorges Area by private car.

This morning make shore excursion to Fengdu, a legendary old town made famous by old stories of sinister spirits and terrible ghosts. You will see many statues of ghosts and devils in the mountain town.

Return to the ship and continue cruising down the Yangtze.

This morning sailing through the Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Have a shore excursion to Shennong Stream or Lesser Three Gorges, then sail through the Three Gorges dam shiplocks.

This morning you will arrive at Huangling Temple at 8am; visit the Three Gorges Dam in the morning, which is the world's largest water project. Disembark the cruiser at about 1:30pm.

After lunch you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Shanghai. At night, enjoy a short cruise over Huangpu River to appreciate the night view of the city.

Today travel to Yuyuan Garden, an exquisite classic garden with a history of more than 400 years. Then visit Jade Buddha Temple where two jade Buddha statues from Burma are housed. This afternoon visit the Former French Concession.Today there remains much to see around the former colonial quarter. Move on to Xintiandi, one of the trendiest places in Shanghai. This area now becomes a place where yesterday meets tomorrow, east meets west.
