Longmen Grottoes

Visits : Longmen Grottoes, Lord Guan Forest, Luoyang White Horse Temple

After breakfast Then you will transfered to Beijing railway station and take an overnight train to Luoyang. After that, pay a visit to Longmen Grottoes, one of the three most important Buddhism grottoes in China. There are 2345 caves and niches, 2800 inscriptions, 43 pagodas and over 100,000 Buddhist images at the site. 30% of the caves date from the Northern Wei Dynasty, 60% from the Tang Dynasty, and caves from other periods less than 10%. It is the most impressive collection of Chinese art from these dynasties, which represents the zenith of stone carving in China. This afternoon pay a visit to Luoyang Museum, White Horse Temple and Guanlin Temple. White Horse Temple is the first Buddhist temple in China, established in 68 AD under the reign of Emperor Ming in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Guanlin Temple is actually the place where Guan Yu's head was buried. Guan Yu was a brave general for Shu, one of the three kingdoms during the Three Kingdoms period. Guan is respected as an epitome of loyalty and righteousness.

After enjoying your breakfast enjoy Shaolin Temple for one day excursion tour. Then you will transfered to Luoyang railway station and take an overnight train to Beijing.
