Arrival in Hanoi

- Nanning to Hanoi: T8701 18:45pm – 07:00am next morning
- Guilin to Hanoi: T5 14:57pm – 08:10am next morning
In the morning you will arrive at Hanoi Jialin railway station from Nanning or Guilin, Guangxi Autonomous Region of China. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, and the country´s second largest city. It is located on the right-hand bank of the Red River, and is 1,760km to the north of Ho Chi Minh City.
Upon arrival you will be met by your English-speaking guide, and transferred to your hotel.
After a rest you will discover Hanoi in the afternoon. Your tour includes the Ethnology museum, a one-hour cycling tour around the trading area in Hanoi Old Quarter, and the Water Puppet Show.
-The Ethnology Museum contains more than 10,000 objects, 15,000 black and white photos and hundreds of video tapes and cassettes which depict all aspects of life, activities, customs, and habits of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam.
-Hanoi Old Quarteris is located between the Lake of the Restored Sword, the Long Bien Bridge, a former city rampart, and a citadel wall. The Old Quarter started as a snake and alligator-infested swamp, and as the oldest continuously developed area of Vietnam, Hanoi´s Old Quarter has a history that spans 2,000 years, and represents the eternal soul of the city. Although the old section of Hanoi is often called the 36 Old Streets, there are actually more than 36 streets.
-Water Puppet Show While visiting Vietnam you don’t want to miss the culturally famous water puppet show – Vietnamese’s singular variation on the ancient Asian puppet tradition. It is believed that every aspect of life is controlled by spirits, and the Vietnamese invented water puppetry as a form of entertainment so as to satisfy these spirits. The ponds and flooded rice paddies after harvest become the stage for those impromptu performances.

Day 2

Hanoi– Halong Bay by private vehicle

Today you will start your tour at 8:00am after enjoying a nice breakfast at your hotel. Today’s tour includes Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum, One pillar pagoda, Tran Quoc pagoda, and the Temple of Literature which houses the first university in Vietnam and the National Fine Arts Museum.
You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before being driven to your hotel in Halong City, which is the world heritage city.
-Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum: This is the historic place where Respected Uncle Ho read the Vietnam Manifesto on September 2nd, 1945. There are always two guardsmen dressed in white uniforms standing at the main entrance. The mausoleum is closed on Monday and Friday, but open the rest of the week. It is also closed to visitors during October and November, allowing only pilgrims to visit to pay their homage to Respected Uncle Ho. The dress code for entry is very strict. You must wear shirts and long trousers, no shorts. Also, no cameras, hats or bags are allowed.
-Tran Quoc pagoda sits on an island in the West Lake. King Ly Nam De commissioned the construction of this pagoda on the river bank 1400 years ago.
- One pillar pagoda is a historic Buddhist temple and is regarded as one of Vietnam’s two most iconic temples together with Perfume Temple.
-Temple of Literature: The temple is a Confucian temple, and contains the Imperial Academy which is Vietnam’s first national university. It is a former center of learning in Hanoi. There are various pavilions, halls, statues and stelae of doctors. These places offer ceremonies, study sessions and the strict exam of the Dai Viet.

Day 3

Halong Bay – Hanoi by private vehicle

After enjoy your breakfast you will take a boat trip on Halong Bay – listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. "Dragon descending to the sea" as it is known in Vietnamese legend, is a picturesque Halong Bay, and has more than 1,500 limestone islets rising from the sea, and many of them containing beautiful grottoes. Enjoy a relaxing 4-hour boat trip through Halong Bay and a fresh seafood lunch is prepared and served onboard.
In the afternoon, you will be driven back to Hanoi, and on the way we will stop at Dong Trieu Ceramic.

Day 4

Departure from Hanoi

This morning you will have free time for shopping at Dong Xuan market, or simply relax at the hotel before being transferred to Hanoi airport.
