Visits : The Great Wall of China
Today we drive towards northwest to visit the Badaling section of the Great Wall. Badaling is the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China, approximately 50 miles (80 km) northwest of urban Beijing city in Yanqing County, which is within the Beijing municipality. The portion of the wall running through the site was built during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location's strategic importance. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou, approximately 0.63 miles (1,015 m) above sea level. In the afternoon pay a visit to Changling, one of the thirteen Ming Tombs. It is the tomb of Zhu Di, the third emperor of Ming Dynasty. This evening, enjoy the fantastic Beijing Opera(seat in the VIP area).
Visits : Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven
Today you will visit Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historic events taking place here. Then pay a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. In the afternoon you will visit the Temple of Heaven where emperors conducted religious rituals and prayed for good harvest in Qing and Ming dynasties. It is one of the most important landmarks of Beijing. Then you will transfered to Beijing railway station and take an overnight train to Xian.
Visits : Terra-Cotta Warriors, City Wall, Great Mosque, Muslim Street(Huimin Street)
This morning visit the world famous Terra Cotta Warriors. It was discovered in 1974 and considered one of the eight wonders in the world. In the afternoon have a free walk along the age-old while well-preserved city wall. Then pay a visit to the Great Mosque and stroll along the Muslim Street to try some local snacks.
Today go visit Kumbum Monastery, one of the six biggest Tibetan monasteries. It is the birth place of Tsongkhapa, the founder of Gelupa, Yellow sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
This afternoon enjoy a half day free at leisure.
Then you will transfered to Xining railway station and take an overnight train to Lhasa.
Visits : Potala Palace
After breakfast visit Potala Palace which is the symbol of Lhasa. In the afternoon travel to Sera Monastery. It is known as one of the three greatest monasteries of Tibet and the representative temple for Gelugza. There are lots of Buddhist sutras, Buddhist instruments, Cassocks, gold and silver articles inside this temple.
Visits : Barkhor Street, Jokhang Temple, Norbulingka
After enjoying your breakfast pay a visit to Jokhang Temple, the first Buddhist temple in Lhasa and China's key cultural relic for protection and a world cultural heritage. Then enjoy a stroll along the Barkhor Street nearby which is the favorite place for all visitors. In the afternoon pay a visit to Norbulingka. It is a summer resort for different generations of Dalai Lamas, where they could take care of local affairs.
Visits : Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center
After breakfast you will have the chance to visit the research base of giant panda breeding in Chengdu, where you may learn a lot about the world treasure animal and the effort made to help with the endangered giant panda. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Shanghai.
Visits : Yuyuan Garden, The Bund, Shanghai Museum
This morning go for Yuyuan Garden which was built for Pan Yunduan's parents as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old age. Pan Yunduan was an official of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The garden is a typical classic garden-style architectural complex. Later on walk around Chenghuangmiao Bazaar. There is an authentic local flavor about this busy market area, where the locals preserved their unique life styles and customs. In the afternoon visit Shanghai Museum and People's Square. Then pay a visit to the Bund and later on enoy a cruise trip on the Huangpu River.
