Pick you up from you hotel at about 8:30am. Your tour starts with a visit to Kadoorie House, No. 64 Yan’an Road in Jing’an District. In the late 19th century, Elly Kadoorie came to China from British, founded his electricity and hotel business. The Kadoorie family had gone through times of political and social changes in China, but always generous to help Chinese and Jewish. The house was founded in 1924, made of tons of marbles. In 1953, Song Ching Ling suggested use here as the children’s palace, so till now, this marble palace is the activity center for thousands of children in Shanghai.
Next, we go to Marshall House on Taiyuan Road. Known as the Marshall House for American general George Marshall who stayed here between 1945 and 1949 when he was mediating the China’s political issues. This magnificent mansion, originally built in 1920, belonged to a rich French woman. In 1953, this house was used as national hotel, to accommodate country heads. 1930s colonial-style hotel is located on the grounds of the former Morris Estate. Morris was one of the first western adventurers landed in Shanghai. This villa has too many legends and stories, only the garden covers more than seven hectares. Many movies had used it as background. It’s definitely worth a visit. Your lunch is served in a Chinese restaurant at about 1pm.

The last stop is Fenyang Road. Used to be the French Concession, this road is a peace in the bustling area. Piano music comes out from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in the neighborhood. No. 79 is Zong Dong Residence, the official residence during colonial time.
Because it looks like a white palace in green lawn, local people call it “Small White House”. Now it’s Shanghai Art and Crafts Museum. Next to it, stands the Love House, which was a wedding gift of Soong May-ling from her brother when she married the President of Kuomingtang – Chiang Kai-shek in 1927. Now the Love House is a part of Shanghai Conservatory of Music.At about 5pm, send you back to your hotel or any other downtown place you like.
