Day 1 - Shanghai -> Suzhou -> Shanghai (L)

This morning, you will be driven to Suzhou.

You will be picked up at your hotel at 08:30AM. Then,you will take a coach about 1.5 hours to reach Luzhi water town.

Upon your arrival, you will pay a visit to Baoshen temple which is the first level important historic and cultural site under the state protection.Baoshen temple was founded in 503 with more than 1500 years' history.There are still more than 200 rooms in temple and the layout has been still kept well.

After that,you will visit Ye shengtao tomb and Ye shengtao Memorial hall. Mr Ye Shengtao was a prominent author, educator and publisher. He was one of the founders of the Association for Literary Studies, the first literature association during the May Fourth Movement in China.Then you will visit Shen Residence,with many houses and spacious courtyards.

Taste Chinese lunch at local restaurant at 12:45PM.

In the afternoon, you will continue to visit at Wansheng Rice store which is an old-established rice shop that was once operated by two wealthy businessmen and now serves as the rice distribution centre for Luzhi and nearby towns.  You can view many quaint antique agricultural tools in Wansheng Rice Store.

Xiaofangfang Former residence will be your next stop. The residence was built by an official in the Qing dynasty and was tranferred later to the Xiao family.Its style is typical of many houses south of Yangtze river. During the 20th century, the Xiao family's most famous offspring was Xiao Fangfang, a movie actress in Hong Kong. The residence contains an exhibition hall of her achievements in film over the past 50 years.

Finally,you will continue to visit the Zhangling park. The Zhang Lin Park is located 1.5km southwest of Luzhi town.  The first thing that came in sight is a very tall but small hill lying in the center of the garden. This is the Zhangling Hill, which is said to be the tomb of the Prime Minister Zhang Cang in the Han dynasty(206 B.C.--9 A.D.). In addition, there are lots of famous scenic spots in this garden, such as 24 Pieties Palace, Fishing Pond, Four Directions Hall and so on.

Enjoy a boat tour before leaving the town After lunch you will be transferred to Shanghai.
