Mysterious Tulou Kingdom tour

The poem is written for Fujian Tulou Building:
Nothing can be compared with the structures of earth building,
Its walls are thick and tall, impervious to any enemy;
All the people are closely united,
And their resistance and attacks are matchless in the world.

There you could communicate with local Hakka people to feel the rustic folkway. There you could appreciate the special architecture to know the ancients’ wisdom and more history of China. And you could watch an original hand puppet show or folk art show and drink a cup of rice wine or taste some local dishes. It seems you forget who you are and where you are from. Just you are local…

Day 01: Shanghai – Zhangzhou by K197 18:27PM to 15:35PM (Next day) (-/-/-)
In the afternoon, you will be picked up by your driver from the appointed place to Shanghai Southern railway station. Then, you will have a nice experience on taking a Chinese train with the soft sleeper to reach Zhangzhou.

Accommodation: Overnight at train. 

Day 02: Zhangzhou (-/-/-)
Upon arrive in Zhangzhou Railway station at 15:35PM, you will be picked up by your guide to check-in hotel. Then, free on your own. (Suggestions: The flourishing street of “Beijing Road and Shengli Road” are good place for visiting and shopping.)

Accommodation: Xiang Jiang hotel or similar(4 star)

Day 03: Zhangzhou (B/L/-)
In the morning, you will take a coach around 2 hours to arrive the stop for a bird’s eye view of Tianluokeng Earth Building Complex, which leans on mountains and is one of China’s first batch of historical and cultural villages. You could take some panoramic photos of the splendid building and the terrace around. It looks like UFO dropping from the sky or Mushroom sending out from the ground.

Then, you are taking a coach for few minutes to arrive Xiaban village. There is a grand Yuchang Building, which is a two-ring, 5-story and 54-room building. When you look up the whole view of its structure inside the building, you will find out all floors are askew and unsteadily. People lives in the building so many years even now. So do not worry! Definitely, it is the special attraction there.

Your Chinese lunch is served at Shuyang town to taste local delicious foods. 

In the afternoon, you are taking a coach around 30 minutes to reach Hegui Lou, which is the unique square one built on the wetland. If you are stamping your feet at the little dooryard of classroom inside of the building, the whole piece of pebbles are shaking as ripples. Its small yard is in the shape of Eight Diagrams. The special thing is that there are two wells, one is lunar well with cloudy water but other is solar well with clear water. These are still a mystery for people’s exploration.

Following, you are taking a coach to Huaiyuan Lou, which is an exquisite building with all Chinese antique flavor. The best place to take a photo here is from the middle bearing at the third floor. There you will see the folk “Five-phoenix” Lou named as “Shiliting” stands on the middle of the building. When you walk into the house, you are going to get feeling of the hard-studying in full blossom of the ancients.

Finally, you are taking a coach around 2 hours on the way back to Xiangjiang district to check-in at your hotel.

Day 04: Zhangzhou - Shanghai by K198 23:15PM to 22:45PM(Next day) (B/L/-)
In the morning, you are going to take a coach around 1.5 hours to reach Eryi Lou, which is the king of Round Tulou and Treasure of Civilian Resident and was built in the Qing Dynasty. The Tulou consists of two annular constructions and is divided into 16 units with totally 213 rooms in them. It is not only “a mythical architectural pattern unique in the world” but also a presentation of visible, touchable and sensible traditional Chinese culture. 

Then, you are going to take the mini sightseeing bus for few minutes to reach the round Nanyang Luo, which has been become a museum for visiting and is the classical masterpiece with the organic combination of unit and corridor. You will see the delicately carved with patterns of flowers and grass and the worship tables from the Qing Dynasty etc.

After lunch, you are going to take a coach to arrive Zhangzhou Binhai volcano landform country geology park for a visit. Besides you could investigate and search these dark volcano rocks and appreciate the sea scene, there are yet many activities you could join, such as entertainment on the water, fishing, camping at the beach etc. The Linjing island is greeting you and waiting for your coming. You could take a quick yacht to get there for your vivid trip.

Finally, you are taking a coach around 1.5 hours back to Zhangzhou railway station to catch an overnight train of K198 23:15PM to 22:45PM next day to return Shanghai Southern railway station.

Upon your arrival at 22:45PM, you will be picked up to the appointed place to end your memorable tour.
