Morning: our guide will meet you at Haitong Pier at Waigaoqiao Area or Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal (PLEASE specify which one when booking) at about 9am, then you will drive to visit Yu Garden (Yu Yuan) and the Old Street.

Lunch : Chinese lunch at Lu Bo Lang Restaurant

Afternoon: you will take a walk along the Nanjing Road, one of the most famous shopping street in China, full of shanghai style shops in last 50 years. Then you will visit Shanghai’s art center – Big Warehouse. Have your leisure time in the galleries; enjoy the Chinese art. Our English-speaking guide will lead you in and help you find way. 

After the sightseeing, send you back to you boat.

 

Yuyuan Garden: Yuyuan Garden lies in the prosperous section of Shanghai's old city, and is the notable classic garden in the southern Yangtze River, as well as the noted place of interest, historic sites and tourist attraction. In 1982, it was ranked as the key protection of national historic sites. The garden was finished in 1577 by a government officer of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) named Pan Yunduan. Yu in Chinese means pleasing and satisfying, and this garden was specially built for Pan's parents as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old age. In 1956, a large-scale rehabilitation or restoration was done by Shanghai Municipal Government.

 

Big Warehouse in Shanghai, just as 798 Factory in Beijing, was used to be group of nation-owned factories; the most famous is Chunming Textile Factory. During the quick economic changes, these factories couldn’t make profit any more, they rented it to the outside. Many young artists were attracted by the huge area and low rent, moved here and opened studios. Gradually, because of the free atmosphere, many artists from other countries came, art industry developed, Big Warehouse became a name of art center in Shanghai. There are some renowned China modern art exhibitions, and of course, lots of art pieces are for sell.
