the Bund in ShanghaiPicked up at 8:00am from your hotel. This tour begins with a visit to Jade Buddha Temple located in the northwest part of Shanghai. Next stop is Shanghai Museum which is considerred one of the best museums of its kind in China.  During the visit you may rent an audio phone (about USD6) for more detailed information. 

After lunch move on to Yuyuan Garden and the Shanghai Old. The garden, built 450 years ago is considered by experts to be an exquisite sample of typical southern garden. Then the tour stops at Shanghai's number one landmark - the Bund. Driving along the former French Concession district, comes the last stop of today's tour Xintiandi. The well preserved old brick buildings have now been transformed into the trendiest place in Shanghai.

During the tour, you will also visit a silk mill and a fresh water pearl gallery.

 
 



 

Jade Buddha Temple:
  Built during the troubled reign of the Qing Emperor Guangxu (1875-1908) and burned down after having been occupied during the 1911 revolution. It is a spiritual oasis in the midst of a booming city. The most valuable collection of the temple is its jade Buddha Statues from Burma.
 
The Bund:  One of the landmarks of Shanghai. Once it served as the home of the foreign traders and major banks and now besides those remained European-style buildings, there are chic restaurants, top class shops and bars offering plent.
 
Yuyuan Garden:  In the center of Shanghai next to the Yuyuan Bazaar, this exquisite old garden is well-known for its unique design. The paths wander across bridges, past rockeries and miniature lakes, and through pretty halls and pavilions. Come here for a walk an feel the peace and harmony here.
 
Xintiandi:  In the late 1990s, sterile office and apartment blocks began to replace traditional neighborhoods where vibrant street culture and tight-knit family life had long thrived. Shikumen(Stone Gate), a unique blend of Chinese and Western architectural features were born in that time. Housed in the Shikumen complex, Xintiandi Recreation Area now has become a bustling pedestrian zone featuring upscale shopping, dining and entertainment Popular with tourists, expats and Shanghainese nouveaux riches.
 
Shanghai Museum:  The biggest, and many think the best museum in China. The galleries in this outstanding building display stunning collections of bronzes, sculptures, ceramics and porcelain, paintings, calligraphy, seals, jade, coins, furniture, ethnic artifacts from minority groups, temporary traveling exhibitions from places like the Guggenheim, and so much more ... give yourself time to enjoy it.
