One Day Chongqing Dazu Rock Carving Tour
At around 9am, our English-speaking guide picks you up from the hotel you stay. Transfer to Dazu County of Chongqing, visit those wondrous rock carvings. About 2 hours on the way. Dazu Rock Carvings is an excellent representative of Chinese grotto art. It’s firstly carved in Tang Dynasty in 892, and through Late Liang, Late Tang, Late Jin, Late Han, Late Zhou and South Song dynasties, 250 years in all. Now there still exist more than 4600 carvings. It’s also another world’s cultural heritage.
Have a full tour in Dazu. With our professional guide’s introduction, we’re sure you’ll enjoy the carving cultures. After lunch, transfer back to Chongqing city. In the afternoon, go to the Eling Park, a good scenic location, ascend to the highest place of Chongqing, have a bird eye view of the city. Later, go to the city center, see the symbolic architecture – People's Hall of Chongqing, it was completed in 1954 to memorize China’s resistance war and establishment of new government, one of the top 10 classic architectures in 20th century Asia.

Your last stop of the tour is Chongqing Stilwell Museum - Flying Tiger Memorial which was once used as an important lodging place by the KMT government to accommodate VIPs during the war against Fascism. In March 1942, the building became General Stilwell's official residence in Chongqing after he came to China entrusted by US President Roosevelt. On display in the museum is an extensive display of mostly US-supplied photos, documents, articles and video.
