Day 1 - Beijing (No meal included)

Upon your arrival, our guide will meet you and transfer you to the city center.

Day 2 - Beijing (B, L)

Visits : Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Beijing Summer Palace

Today you will visit Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historic events taking place here. Then pay a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. This afternoon visit the Summer Palace, which used to be a summer resort of Empress Dowager Cixi. It is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill (60 meters high) and the Kunming Lake. It covers an expanse of 2.9 square kilometers, three quarters of which is water.

Day 3 - Beijing (B, L, D)

Visits : Juyongguan Great Wall, Great Wall in China, The Ming Tombs

After enjoying your breakfast visit Badaling Section of Great Wall. Situated in a valley surrounded by mountains, It is an important strategic gateway to Inner Mongolia. Cable car ride is included. In the afternoon switch to Ming tombs and visit Changling. Changling is the largest and best preserved of the 13 Ming Tombs near Beijing. Changling, 4km from the entrance, is the tomb of Emperor Yongle (reign 1403-1424) and empress Xushi. The layout is identical to the tomb of the first Ming emperor in Nanjing and is rather like the Forbidden City in miniature. In addition to the palace, there is an underground burial chamber.

Day 4 - Beijing (B, L)

Visits : Yonghegong Lama Temple, Beijing Zoo

After enjoying your breakfast we visit the most important Buddhist temple in China, Lama temple in Beijing. This afternoon explore Old Hutongs that are the most typical construction in Beijing. And then visit Beijing Zoo to have a close look at Panda that is China´s national treasure.

Day 5 - Beijing -> Xian (B, L, D)

Visits : Great Mosque

After enjoying your breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Xian. This afternoon visit Great Mosque, have a look at Bell Tower and Drum Tower Square. In the evening, you will go enjoy Tang Dynasty Show and taste chinese dumplings at the same time.

Day 6 - Xian (B, L)

Visits : Terra-Cotta Warriors

After breakfast visit the world famous Terra Cotta Warriors. It was discovered in 1974 and considered one of the eight wonders in the world. After having lunch enjoy a half day free at leisure.

Day 7 - Xian -> Xining (B, L)

Visits : The Big Wild Goose Pagoda, City Wall

This morning visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda which is four kms south of Xi´an and many regard it as a symbol of the city. After that, go to city wall to appreciate the oldest and best preserved one in China. After lunch you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Xining.

Day 8 - Xining -> Lhasa (B, L, D)

This morning, you will be transferred to visit Qinghai Lake. Lying on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Qinghai Lake is the largest inland saltwater lake in China. Every year in June and July, you will enjoy about 400 million square meters of golden rape flowers which are in full bloom around Qinghai lake, producing a magnificent view like paradise along the way to Qinghai lake. After that, you will visit the Sun and Moon mountain. The Sun and Moon Mountain are also very appealing. It is undoubtedly a wonderful place from which to view the landscape around Xining. Then you will be transfered to Xining railway station and take an overnight train to Lhasa.

Notes: Tibet travel permit will only be issued to a minimum group size of 5 travelers from the same country.

Day 9 - Lhasa (D)

After breakfast you will spend a whole day on the train. You will traverse a train pass with the highest altitude in the world at over 5000 m and enjoy the scenery of jagged mountain peaks caped in ice and the permanently frozen Tibetan Plateau through the window of the train. In late evening, you will arrive in Lhasa and our guide will meet you in the railway station and transfer you to your hotel for a good rest.

Day 10 - Lhasa (B, L)

Visits : Potala Palace, Barkhor Street, Jokhang Temple

Today visit Potala Palace which is the symbol of Lhasa. In the afternoon pay a visit to Jokhang Temple, the first Buddhist temple in Lhasa and China´s key cultural relic for protection and a world cultural heritage. Then enjoy a stroll along the Barkhor Street nearby which is the favorite place for all visitors.

Day 11 - Lhasa (B, L)

Visits : Norbulingka, Drepung Monastery

After enjoying your breakfast pay a visit to Norbulingka. It is a summer resort for different generations of Dalai Lamas, where they could take care of local affairs. In the afternoon pay a visit to Drepung Monastery (Vault of the Crops in Tibetan). It is famous for the debates on Buddhist doctrines frequently held, which is also known as the Tibetan Library.

Day 12 - Lhasa -> Chengdu (B)

Today you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Chengdu. In the afternoon enjoy a half day free at leisure.

Day 13 - Chengdu -> Shanghai (B, L)

Visits : Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center

Today you will have the chance to visit the research base of giant panda breeding in Chengdu, where you may learn a lot about the world treasure animal and the effort made to help with the endangered giant panda. After having lunch take your time in Sanxingdui Museum. Due to its scope, the wealth of its contents, and the rarity and precious nature of its excavated objects. You will be transferred to the airport and take a flight to Shanghai.

Day 14 - Shanghai (B, L, D)

Visits : The Bund, Shanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden

This morning visit the Bund, a long strip on west bank of Huangpu River. It is Shanghai´s number one tourist site. After having lunch you will continue to visit Shanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden and Chenghuangmiao which will fully take up your time to know about Shanghai. In the evening, you will enjoy a fantastic acrobatic performance.

Day 15 - Shanghai (B)

Free till being transfered to the airport. End of the fabulous tour in China.

The overnight train trip to Lhasa was marvelous. After a good sleep, we woke up in the morning and enjoyed the Plateau scenery for a whole day until arriving at Lhasa in the evening.

At Lama Temple, Beijing, a college graduate told me he was visiting the Temple for the second time. He had prayed for a good job before the Buddhas, and was then coming to "redeem his vows" now that he had landed a good job.
