Day 1 - Lhasa   (No meal included)

Upon your arrival, our guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Have a good rest at your room to get used to the high altitude. Please void alcohol and do not take a bath today.  

Day 2 - Lhasa   (B, L)

Visits : Potala Palace

This morning you will visit Potala Palace which is the symbol of Lhasa. After lunch visit a local Tibetan family to learn more about Tibetan people´s life today. Then you will visit a Tibetan Hospital and Tibetan Museum.

Day 3 - Lhasa   (B, L)

Barkhor Street

Visits : Barkhor Street, Jokhang Temple

After enjoying your breakfast, you will visit Norbulingka. It is a summer resort for different generations of Dalai Lamas, where they could take care of local affairs. In the afternoon pay a visit to Jokhang Temple, the first Buddhist temple in Lhasa and China´s key cultural relic for protection and a world cultural heritage. Then enjoy a stroll along the Barkhor Street nearby which is the favorite place for all visitors.

Day 4 - Lhasa   (B, L)

Drepung Monastery

Visits : Drepung Monastery

After enjoying your breakfast pay a visit to Drepung Monastery (Vault of the Crops in Tibetan). It is famous for the debates on Buddhist doctrines frequently held, which is also known as the Tibetan Library. This afternoon, you will travel to Sera Monastery. It is known as one of the three greatest monasteries of Tibet and the representative temple for Gelugza. There are lots of Buddhist sutras, Buddhist instruments, Cassocks, gold and silver articles inside this temple.

Day 5 - Lhasa -> Tsedang Travel Guide -> Shigatse   (B, L, D)

Visits : Tashilhunpo Monastery

Today you will be driven Yamdroktso (4441m above sea level), one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Then you will visit the Tashilhumpo Monastery, one of the four greatest monasteries of the Gelugpa School of Tibetan Buddhism after being transferred to Shigatse by private car.

Day 6 - Shigatse -> Dingri County   (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will be guided around the old town of Shigatse. Later in the afternoon, you will be driven to Dingri County.



Day 7 - Dingri County -> Shigatse   (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will visit Rongbuk Temple, the highest altitude monastery on the planet and a vantage point for watching Mount Qomolangma. Then you will  travel to the Everest Base Camp by eco-friendly coach. It is absolutely a breath-taking experience to stare up at the world´s highest mountain from so close a position. Then you will be transferred to Shigatse by private car.

Day 8 - Shigatse -> Gyantse -> Lhasa   (B, L, D)

Kumbum Monastery(Bai Ju Si Temple)

Visits : Kumbum Monastery(Bai Ju Si Temple)

After breakfast you will be driven to Gyantse. You will visit Palkor Chode & Kumbum, the main monastery in Gyantse founded in 1418 and notable for its kumbum. After lunch visit the Gyangze Anti-British castle ruins, also called historical site for resisting the English enemy. Then you will be transferred to Lhasa by private car.

Day 9 - Lhasa   (B)

Free until being transfered to the airport and takea  flight back home or the next destination.

Dear Tim, It is not so strict as your friends say. As usual, taking photos is free except some sensitive sites and the inside of temples and monasteries...
