Visits : Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Beijing Summer Palace

Today you will visit Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historic events taking place here. Then pay a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. After having lunch visit the Summer Palace, which used to be a summer resort of Empress Dowager Cixi. It is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill (60 meters high) and the Kunming Lake. It covers an expanse of 2.9 square kilometers, three quarters of which is water.

Day 3 - Beijing   (B, L, D)

This morning spend your whole day in the Mutianyu Section of Great Wall. Besides its strategically important location and compact layout, Great Wall at Mutianyu is also famous for the breath-takingly beautiful scenery. This evening, you will go to taste Beijing Roast Duck in Quanjude which is a famous historied Roast Duck restaurant in China.


Day 4 - Beijing -> Chengdu   (B, L)

Visits : Temple of Heaven

After breakfast you will visit the Temple of Heaven where emperors conducted religious rituals and prayed for good harvest in Qing and Ming dynasties. It is one of the most important landmarks of Beijing. This afternoon you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Chengdu.


Day 5 - Chengdu   (B, L)

Visits : Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center

After enjoying your breakfast you will have the chance to visit the research base of giant panda breeding in Chengdu, where you may learn a lot about the world treasure animal and the effort made to help with the endangered giant panda. After having lunch take your time in Sanxingdui Museum.Due to its scope, the wealth of its contents, and the rarity and precious nature of its excavated objects.

Day 6 - Chengdu -> Lhasa   (B)

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Lhasa.

After lunch enjoy a half day free at leisure.         Notes: Tibet travel permit will only be issued to a minimum group size  of 5 travelers from the same country.

Day 7 - Lhasa   (B, L)

Visits : Potala Palace, Barkhor Street, Jokhang Temple

After enjoying your breakfast visit Potala Palace which is the symbol of Lhasa. This afternoon pay a visit to Jokhang Temple, the first Buddhist temple in Lhasa and China's key cultural relic for protection and a world cultural heritage. Then enjoy a stroll along the Barkhor Street nearby which is the favorite place for all visitors.


Day 8 - Lhasa   (B, L)

Norbulingka

Visits : Norbulingka

After breakfast visit Tsepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, both are great and big ones of the kind. In the afternoon pay a visit to Norbulingka. It is a summer resort for different generations of Dalai Lamas, where they could take care of local affairs. Then, go to have a look at Carpet Factory.


Day 9 - Lhasa -> Gyantse -> Shigatse   (B, L, D)

Visits : Kumbum Monastery(Bai Ju Si Temple)

After breakfast you will be driven to Gyantse. After having lunch visit Palkhor Monastery. Then you will be transferred to Shigatse by private car.



Day 10 - Shigatse -> Lhasa   (B, L)

Visits : Tashilhunpo Monastery

This morning visit the Tashilhumpo Monastery, one of the four greatest monasteries of the Gelugpa School of Tibetan Buddhism. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Lhasa by private car.




Day 11 - Lhasa -> Beijing   (B)

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Beijing. When you arrive in Beijing, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free time on your own.



Day 12 - Beijing   (B)
