Description :There are many ways we can tour the Silk Road. As we know, most of the Silk Road is in the Gobi desert where the facilities are not so favorable. As we design this tour for those who are interested in the tremendous culture yet not ready to sacrifice comfort, we call it Easy Silk Road Tour.

Day 1 - Beijing   (No meal included)

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the guide and be transferred to your hotel in the city center.




Day 2 - Beijing   (B, L, D)

Visits : Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Beijing Summer Palace

Today you will visit Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historic events taking place here. Then pay a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. In the afternoon visit the Summer Palace, which used to be a summer resort of Empress Dowager Cixi. It is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill (60 meters high) and the Kunming Lake. It covers an expanse of 2.9 square kilometers, three quarters of which is water.

Day 3 - Beijing   (B, L)

Visits : The Great Wall of China

After enjoying your breakfast pick up travelers from hotel on departure time, and then drive to the Great Wall (60 miles away from downtown about one hour driving). Sightseeing on the most famous part of the Great Wall, Badaling section, for 2 hours. Cable car is not included.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant nearby the Ming Tombs.

After lunch, stop at a jade factory and a tea shop. Continue to visit the Changling, one of the Ming Thirteen Tombs, the best-preserved Chinese imperial tombs with 500 years history (1 hour).

After that, be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 4 - Beijing -> Xian   (B, L, D)

Great Mosque

Visits : Great Mosque, Shaanxi History Museum

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Xian.

In the afternoon visit Shaanxi History Museum, which has a big collection of historical and cultural relics. Then move on to the Great Mosque, one of the most important mosques in China. In the evening, you will enjoy Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing performance.


Day 5 - Xian -> Lanzhou   (B, L, D)

Visits : Terra-Cotta Warriors, The Big Wild Goose Pagoda

After enjoying your breakfast visit the world famous Terra Cotta Warriors. It was discovered in 1974 and considered one of the eight wonders in the world. In the afternoon enjoy a leisure visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the most important historical sites in Xian. Then you will transfered to Xian railway station and take an overnight train to Lanzhou.


Day 6 - Lanzhou -> Jiayuguan   (B, L, D)

Visits : Bingling Temple Grotto

After enjoying your breakfast pay a visit to Binglingsi Grottoes which are a series of grottoes with Buddhist sculpture carved inside. After lunch visit Yellow River Scenic Zone. Then you will transfered to Lanzhou railway station and take an overnight train to Jiayuguan.


Day 7 - Jiayuguan   (B, L, D)

Today Built in the Ming Dynasty, the Jiayuguan Pass is one of the best-preserved passes in China as well as the largest pass on the ancient Great Wall. After lunch go visit the tombs dating from Wei and Jin period. There you will get to know the burial ritual of that period.


Day 8 - Jiayuguan -> Dunhuang   (B, L, D)

Visits : Singing Sand Mountain and Crescent Spring

After breakfast you will be driven to Dunhuang. After having lunch pay a visit to Crescent-moon Lake and Echoing-sand Dune. Have a leisure walk around the lake. Then, proceed to visit the Folk Culture Museum, where you can get to know the folk custom in Dunhuang.


Day 9 - Dunhuang -> Urumqi   (B, L, D)

Mogao Grottoes

Visits : Mogao Grottoes

This morning drop to Mogao Grottoes .As the largest, best preserved and richest treasure house of Buddhist art in the world,Mogao Grottoes still keep their bright colors and are clearly discernible. In the afternoon be driven to Yangguan Pass, an important pass for the silk road. With the help of our guide, you will get to know what kind of role it played. you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Urumqi.

Day 10 - Urumqi -> Kashgar   (B, L, D)

Heavenly Lake

Visits : Heavenly Lake

Today you are going to appreciate a beautiful lake named heavenly lake. The lake has various waterfalls with constantly changing cloud and mist, forming a splendor and open plateau landscape. In the afternoon take a chance to visit a nomadic family, to feel the real local life. you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Kashgar.


Day 11 - Kashgar   (B, L, D)

Grand Bazaar in Kashgar

Visits : Grand Bazaar in Kashgar, Abakh Khoja Mausoleum, Id Kah Mosque

Today you will go to Kashgar Bazaar to buy local things,which is the biggest international trade market in the northwest region of China.It has the most abundant goods, the lowest prices, and the most buyers.

After lunch visit the largest Idkah Mosque and Apakh Hoja Tomb.


Day 12 - Kashgar -> Urumqi   (B, L, D)

This morning take your time to the Silk Road Museum, a good place getting to know the history and culture of the Silk Road. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Urumqi. After that, go for an Exhibition of Ethnic Customs.


Day 13 - Urumqi -> Shanghai   (B, L)

Visits : Shanghai Museum

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Shanghai.

In the afternoon take your time to visit Shanghai Museum which is located in People's Square. At night, enjoy a short cruise over Huangpu River to appreciate the night view of the city.


Day 14 - Shanghai   (B)

Free till being transfered to the airport. End of the fabulous tour in China.

I should have visited the singing sand hill in the late afternoon. The sunlight at dusk would make the sand hills an intoxicating sight.
