Dunhuang

Dunhuang is a famous tourist city, where the landmark is an attractive statue called "Playing Pipa (a Chinese musical instrument) in a Reverse Direction", the idea of which comes from the mural in Mogao Caves, a shrine to the culture and arts of Dunhuang. In ancient times, Dunhuang was the center of trade between China and its western neighbors. At that time, it was the most westerly frontier military garrison in China. With the flourishing of trade along the Silk Road, Dunhuang was prompted to become the most open area in international trade in Chinese history. It provided the only access westward for the Chinese Empire and eastward for western nationalities. Today, as a reminder of this historical area, we are left with the Mogao Caves, Yangguan Pass, Yumenguan Pass and many wonderful Chinese poems depicting the time. Although what remains of the two Passes are crumbling walls, one can still experience the atmosphere of that time while visiting in person.

Lanzhou

It is the unique city in China that is divided into the southern and northern sections by the Yellow River, the mother river of the Chinese. Lanzhou is located in the heartland of China, and its urban area and the beautiful night scenes are like many metropolises in the country. But its custom, atmosphere and food are so different. It is a place that you must count in your Chinese tour. The air is often cool and dry ; snacks like beef and mutton noodles and casseroles are very delicious, as well as local fresh fruits.

Xiahe

Located in the Southern Gansu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, western China, Xiahe County was officially established in 1928. Its name was derived from the River Daxia here. Deep valleys and high mountains are commonly seen in the county, and traditionally Xiahe was a place of military importance in China. It is known as the "Little Tibet" too, because the Tibetan Buddhism has been greatly developed and deeply rooted here since ancient time. In the beautiful prairie of Xiahe, wild leopards, otters and roes are roaming freely, rare plants like aweto and muskiness can be found. Natural mineral resources are rich here too.
