Silk Road Discovery Tour

Day 1 Arrive in Dunhuang

Upon arrival at Dunhuang, you will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day you will relax or explore the city at your own.

Day 2 Dunhuang (B/L)

In the morning you will enjoy yourselves at Crescent-moon Lake and Echoing-sand Dune, and then you will visit Folk Culture Museum where you will get to know the custom of local people. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you will visit Mogao Grottos, an ancient art treasure house with the largest scale and most content preserved in China today.

Day 3 Dunhuang - Lanzhou by plane (B/L)

Today your tour begins with a visit to Yangguan Pass. After lunch you will visit Dunhuang Museum and White Horse Pagoda. Enjoy some free time before being transferred to the airport for flight to Lanzhou.

Upon arrival in Lanzhou you will be met by local tour guide and transferred to your hotel.

Relax or explore the city at your own.

Day 4 Lanzhou (B/L)

Today's highlights is an excursion to Binglingsi Grottos. Located in a valley, 75km south-west of Lanzhou, Binglingsi is an important Buddhist site which has witnessed the cultural exchanges between the east and the west. About one-hour boat ride and nice natural scenery will add more pleasure to the visit.

Day 5 Lanzhou - Xiahe (B/L)

After breakfast in your hotel, you will drive to Xiahe (5 hours) for a visit to Labrang Lamasery.

Xiahe, regarded as Little Tibet in Gansu, is getting more and more attractive. Labrang Lamasery is one of the six largest religious temples of the Gelupa Sect of China's Lamaism, second only to Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. The lamasery covers 202 acres and has more than 10,000 halls and accommodates over 3,000 lamas.

Day 6 Xiahe - Lanzhou (B/L)

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Lanzhou. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. You will visit Gansu Provincial Museum, where the symbol of Chinese tourism—bronze statue of flying horse is kept.

Day 7 Depart Lanzhou (B)

You will be free till be transferred to the airport for flight to your next destination.
