Day 1

Beijing   (No meal included)

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the guide and be transferred to your hotel in the city center.

Day 2

Beijing   (B, L, D)

Visits : Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven

This morning you will visit Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historic events. Then pay a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. After lunch you will visit the Temple of Heaven where emperors of Qing and Ming dynasties conducted religious rituals, and prayed for good harvests. It is one of the most important landmarks of Beijing. This evening, you will taste Beijing Roast Duck in Quanjude which is a famous Roast Duck restaurant in China.

Day 3

Beijing   (B, L)

Visits : Mutianyu Great Wall

This morning visit the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, and enjoy the walk along its ramparts while absorbing the breathtaking views. Then continue to the Changling, one of the 13 Ming Tombs where 13 Ming emperors and their consorts were buried. Then take anoutside tour of the Bird´s Nest and Water Cube. You cannot enter the venues.

Day 4

Beijing -> Taiyuan -> Pingyao   (B, L, D)

Visits : Beijing Zoo, Beijing Summer Palace

This morning you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Beijing Zoo. Beijing Zoo was the royal garden in the Ming Dynasty. Its original name is Nature Museum and West-suburb Park. It is the earliest zoo with the largest varieties of animals in China, including pandas. After that, you will move on to Beijing Summer Palace, the best-preserved imperial garden in the world, boasting centralized architectural masterpieces as well as scenic beauties. It was originally a retreat for emperors to escape the scorching summer heat of Beijing. After having lunch head for the railway station and take a safe, fast and comfortable train ride to Taiyuan. When you arrive in Taiyuan, you will be transferred to Pingyao by private car.

Day 5

Pingyao   (B, L, D)

After enjoying your breakfast begin your exploration in Pingyao Ancient Town. The first stop is the Ancient City Wall constructed in early Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). Then you will stroll along The Ming Qing Street, also called Nanda Jie. After that pay a visit to County Government Office that was once the ancient city hall and law court. Later on, you will come to see the Armed Escort Agencies Museum, where you can see many interesting objects and exhibits showing you how the merchants and their commercial goods were protected by those armed escorts when being transferred from place to place. It was a very popular in ancient China to entrust the transport of such commercial goods to armed escorts.

Day 6

Pingyao -> Taiyuan -> Xian   (B, L)

Today visit Qiao Family Compound, where the famous film Raise the Red Lantern was made. Not only can you appreciate the architectural style of this compound in Shanxi, but you also get a general idea of the splendid history of the business giants during Qing Dynasty – theQiao Family, who enjoyed fame asHui Tong Tian Xia (Business Connecting the Whole World). In the afternoon you will be transferred to Taiyuan. Then you will be transferred to the airport and board the flight to Xian.

Day 7

Xian   (B, L)

Visits : City Wall, Terra-Cotta Warriors, The Big Wild Goose Pagoda

After enjoying your breakfast you will travel to see the world famous Terracotta Warriors, one of the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. They are a form of funerary art buried with the First Emperor of Qin in 210–209 BC, who declared himself the first emperor of China. Their purpose was to help the emperor rule the empire in the afterlife. Then follow the guide to the City Walls. The surviving walls were rebuilt on the former Tang Dynasty foundations. In the afternoon enjoy a leisurely visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the most important historical sites in Xian.

Day 8

Xian -> Hangzhou   (B, L)

This morning pay a visit to the Shaanxi History Museum, which is one of the first state museums with modern facilities in China housing more than 300,000 items. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport and take the flight to Hangzhou.

Day 9

Hangzhou   (B, L, D)

Visits : Lingyin Temple, West Lake, Impression West Lake

After breakfast, pay a visit to Lingyin Temple which is the biggest Buddhist temple in the southeast of China, and the nearby Peak Flying Afar. In the afternoon you will enjoy a short boat ride across the picturesque West Lake. Then visit thEmeijiawu Tea Village. Finally go to Hefang Street which is a famous pedestrian street. Tonight, you will watch Impression West Lake directed by Zhang Yimou. Staged entirely upon the lake itself (a stage built three centimeters below the surface), Impression West Lake is a spectacle of light, music, dance and theatrics. The story is based on a Hangzhou legend. With the lake and its surroundings as props, lights and hundreds of actors sensational performance is created.

Day 10

Hangzhou -> Suzhou   (B, L, D)

Visits : Suzhou Silk Museum, Humble Administrator Garden, Garden of the Master of the Nets(Wang Shi Garden)

Today head for the railway station and take a safe, fast and comfortable train ride to Suzhou. In the afternoon you will visit the Humble Administrator´s Garden, which is considered the most beautiful garden-style architectural complex in China. Have a walk around the garden to get totally refreshed. Then pay a visit to Suzhou Silk Museum, where you can get to know about the silk trade in China. And then take a boat ride on the Grand Canal to watch the waterside city view.

Day 11

Suzhou -> Shanghai   (B, L)

After enjoying your breakfast take a scenic bus ride to Luzhi, a historic water village with beautiful landscapes and simple lifestyle. Located to the east of Suzhou, it is a good place to escape the hustle and bustle of big cities. This afternoon head for the railway station and take a safe, fast and comfortable train ride to Shanghai.

Day 12

Shanghai   (B, L)

Visits : Nanjing Road, The Bund, The Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden

This morning travel to the Bund, a very important landmark of Shanghai on the western bank of the Huangpu River. Afterwards travel to Pudong for a visit to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Ascend the 263metersfor a panoramic view of the Huangpu River and the city. Then take a walk along the famous commercial street in Shanghai, Nanjing Road. This afternoon you will visit Jade Buddha Temple, which features the architectural style of the Song Dynasty with a precise layout and harmonious structure. Then the tour takes you to Yuyuan Garden.

Day 13

Shanghai   (B)

This morning enjoy a free day at leisure.

Day 14

Shanghai   (B)
