Visits : Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square

After enjoying your breakfast you will visit the Temple of Heaven where emperors conducted religious rituals and prayed for good harvest in Qing and Ming dynasties. It is one of the most important landmarks of Beijing. This afternoon you will visit Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historic events taking place here. Then pay a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. This evening, enjoy the fantastic Beijing Opera(seat in the VIP area).

Visits : The Great Wall of China

After enjoying your breakfast we drive towards northwest to visit the Badaling section of the Great Wall. Badaling is the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China, approximately 50 miles (80 km) northwest of urban Beijing city in Yanqing County, which is within the Beijing municipality. The portion of the wall running through the site was built during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location's strategic importance. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou, approximately 0.63 miles (1,015 m) above sea level. After having lunch switch to Ming tombs and visit Changling. ChangLing is the largest and best preserved of the 13 Ming Tombs near Beijing. ChangLing, 4km from the entrance, is the tomb of Emperor YongLe (reign 1403-1424) and empress XuShi. The layout is identical to the tomb of the first Ming emperor in Nanjing and is rather like the Forbidden City in miniature. In addition to the palace, there is an underground burial chamber. This evening, you will go to taste Beijing Roast Duck in Quanjude which is a famous historied Roast Duck restaurant in China.

Day 4 - Beijing -> Xian   (B, L, D)

Visits : Beijing Hutong, Yonghegong Lama Temple, Beijing Summer Palace

After breakfast embark on a pedi-cab tour of the hutongs(alleyways) in Beijing's historic Houhai(Back Lakes)district. These alleyways containing traditional courtyard homes used to be neighborhoods in Beijing. Though many have been torn down to make room for modern buildings, some are saved and well preserved. On this tour, you will get to visit several homes and chat with the families who reside in them, a rare insight into everyday life of Beijingers.
This afternoon visit the Summer Palace, which used to be a summer resort of Empress Dowager Cixi. It is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill (60 meters high) and the Kunming Lake. It covers an expanse of 2.9 square kilometers, three quarters of which is water. Then you will transfered to Beijing railway station and take an overnight train to Xian.

Visits : Terra-Cotta Warriors, The Big Wild Goose Pagoda

After enjoying your breakfast visit the world famous Terra Cotta Warriors. It was discovered in 1974 and considered one of the eight wonders in the world. This afternoon visit Shaanxi History Museum, which is one of the first huge state museums in China with over 300,000 items being exhibited. Then visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It is the most influential temple in Xian. In the evening, you will enjoy Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing performance.

Day 6 - Xian -> Luoyang   (B, L)

Great Mosque

Visits : Great Mosque, Muslim Street(Huimin Street)

After enjoying your breakfast have a look at Drum Tower and take a walk along the Ancient City Wall which is the oldest and largest of the city defense systems in ancient times.
After lunch walk along the old streets of the Muslim area and visit the Grand Mosque. Then you will transfered to Xian railway station and take an overnight train to Luoyang.


Day 7 - Luoyang -> Nanjing   (B, L, D)

Longmen Grottoes

Visits : Longmen Grottoes, Luoyang White Horse Temple

This morning pay a visit to Longmen Grottoes, one of the three most important Buddhism grottoes in China. There are 2345 caves and niches, 2800 inscriptions, 43 pagodas and over 100,000 Buddhist images at the site. 30% of the caves date from the Northern Wei Dynasty, 60% from the Tang Dynasty, and caves from other periods less than 10%. It is the most impressive collection of Chinese art from these dynasties, which represents the zenith of stone carving in China. This afternoon you will go visit White Horse Temple, the first Buddhist temple in China, established in 68 AD. Then move on to the Museum of Folk Art to know about the local custom. Then you will transfered to Luoyang railway station and take an overnight train to Nanjing.

Day 8 - Nanjing   (B, L)

Visits : Confucius Temple(Fuzimiao), Dr. Sun Yatsen Mausoleum

Today take a trip to Zhonghuamen Gate,a ceremonial gateway in Nanjing. It is a renowned ancient city gate in China and the city gate with the most complex structure in the world.Confucius Temple Market Street will be a good place for shopping as your next spot. In the afternoon pay a visit to Dr. Sun Yatsen's Mausoleum. You will pass through massive gates and go up 392 marble steps to reach the front of the mausoleum.

Day 9 - Nanjing -> Hangzhou   (B, L)

Ming Xiao Tomb

Visits : Ming Xiao Tomb

This morning you will take a visit to Xiaoling, the tomb of Zhu Yuanzhang and his wife. Zhu Yuanzhang (1328-1398) is the first emperor of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The mausoleum was built between 1381 and 1383 and its construction used over 100,000 laborers. This afternoon head for the railway station and take a safe, fast and comfortable train ride to Hangzhou.

Visits : Lingyin Temple, Mausoleum of General Yue Fei, West Lake
