Day 2 - Beijing   (B, L, D)

Visits : Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Beijing Summer Palace

After enjoying your breakfast you will visit Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historic events taking place here. Then pay a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. After having lunch leave for the Summer Palace. Well known for its large and priceless collection of cultural relics, Summer Palace was among the first group of historical and cultural heritage sites in China to be placed under special state protection. Afterwards, you will enjoy a rickshaw tour in the old Hutong and visit a local family. This evening, you will go to taste Beijing Roast Duck in Quanjude which is a famous historied Roast Duck restaurant in China.

Day 3 - Beijing   (B, L, D)

After enjoying your breakfast we drive towards northwest to visit the Badaling section of the Great Wall. Badaling is the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China, approximately 50 miles (80 km) northwest of urban Beijing city in Yanqing County, which is within the Beijing municipality. The portion of the wall running through the site was built during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location's strategic importance. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou, approximately 0.63 miles (1,015 m) above sea level. After lunch switch to Ming tombs and visit Changling. ChangLing is the largest and best preserved of the 13 Ming Tombs near Beijing. ChangLing, 4km from the entrance, is the tomb of Emperor YongLe (reign 1403-1424) and empress XuShi. The layout is identical to the tomb of the first Ming emperor in Nanjing and is rather like the Forbidden City in miniature. In addition to the palace, there is an underground burial chamber. Be picked up from your hotel at about 18:30pm and driven to Liyuan Theatre. Our English-speaking guide will lead you in. Enjoy Beijing Opera at a good seat, from 19:30pm-20:50pm. Now you can appreciate some classic episodes, performed by professional opera artists. At the end of the show, send you back to hotel.

Day 4 - Beijing -> Xining   (B, L)

Visits : Temple of Heaven

After breakfast you will visit the Temple of Heaven where emperors conducted religious rituals and prayed for good harvest in Qing and Ming dynasties. It is one of the most important landmarks of Beijing. After having lunch you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Xining.


Day 5 - Xining -> Qinghai Hu   (B, L, D)

After breakfast the tour takes you to Kumbum Monastery, one of the six biggest Tibetan monasteries. It is the birth place of Tsongkhapa, the founder of Gelupa, Yellow sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
In the afternoon you will be transferred to Qinghai Hu by private car.


Day 6 - Qinghai Hu -> Golmud   (B, L, D)

Today you will be driven to Golmud. After that, it is a city in the Gobi Desert. It has rich natural resources, and therefore is called "treasure basin"as well. On the way you will visit Chaka Salt Lake. The lake has a salt deposit of over 440 megatons and is one of the four biggest salt lakes in the region.

Day 7 - Golmud -> Nagqu   (B)

After enjoying your breakfast you will be driven to Nagqu. Today will be a tough day because you will spend almost 15 hours on the road. You will pass the mouth of Mt. Kunlun along the highest altitude road in the world. The mountain has a steep terrain, a unique ecological environment and a magnificent natural scene. You will also see numerous hills rising one upon another, snowy peaks towering into the sky, and a vast expanse of grassland and the tuotuo river, which is not only the source of Yangtze River, but also the Yellow river and Lancang river. You will also traverse the famous Hoh Xil Nature Reserve which is an unmanned, deserted land on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Day 8 - Nagqu -> Lhasa   (B, L)

After breakfast go to Namtso, one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet, and the second largest inland salty lake in China. In the late afternoon you will be transferred to Lhasa by private car.



Day 9 - Lhasa   (B, L)

Visits : Barkhor Street, Jokhang Temple, Potala Palace

Today your tour in Lhasa starts from Potala Palace, the symbol of Lhasa and the regional capital of Tibet. Then go to Jokhang Monastery, the first Buddhist temple and for most Tibetans the most sacred and important temple in Tibet. Of course, you should not miss Barkhor Street nearby, the biggest bazaar for the Tibetans.


Day 10 - Lhasa   (B, L)

Drepung Monastery

Visits : Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka

After enjoying your breakfast you will visit Norbulingka Monastery. After lunch, you will proceed to Drepung Monastery, one of the three greatest monasteries in Lhasa and indeed the largest of all Tibetan monasteries.


Day 11 - Lhasa -> Chongqing   (B, L)

After enjoying your breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Chongqing.

In the afternoon go to the Panda room at Chongqing Zoo, where you will see lovely giant pandas.


Day 12 - Chongqing   (B, L)

Today you will go to Dazu Rock Carvings. Dazu Rock Carvings consist of two major sites, North Mountain and Baoding Mountain. North Mountain is smaller and requires less time. The most popular statues might be the Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin) and the Peacock King. The sculptures at Baoding Mountain are far more superior.  At the centre is the giant Reclining Buddha which is 31m long and 5m high. The expression on his face is peace and happiness.

Day 13 - Chongqing -> Shanghai   (B, L)

After enjoying your breakfast you will visit Ancient Town of Ciqikou, which means the Porcelain Harbor and offers a glimpse of the peaceful laid-back life in the countryside of Sichuan. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport and take flight to Shanghai.


Day 14 - Shanghai   (B, L)

Visits : Nanjing Road, The Bund

After breakfast you will go the People´s Square, and visit Shanghai Museum, one of landmarks of Shanghai. After having lunch you will stroll along Nanjing Road. Reputed as No.1 Street in China, it is an epitome of history and culture of Shanghai,and the Bund. What follows is a visit to Xintiandi, where you may see the old Shikumen buildings and feel the modern international atmosphere in Shanghai.

Visits : Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai Old Street

Today you will visit Jade Buddha Temple, which features the architectural style of the Song Dynasty with a precise layout and harmonious structure. Then the tour takes you to Yuyuan Garden. In the afternoon, you will travel to Zhujiajiao Water Town. Zhujiajiao is one of the best-preserved ancient water towns in Shanghai with a history of 1700 years.
